What is a fully hardened steel extrusion screw?
The fully hardened steel extrusion screw is made of full hard metallurgy steel and is formed by a special process of overall hardening treatment. The internal hardness of the screw is as same as the external hardness, which can reach about HRC65°.
How to make Through Hardened Extrusion Screw?
The hardening of screws is done by two processes: quenching and annealing.
During the quenching process, the screw will heated to a certain temperature and then rapidly cooled, which makes the screw hardened.
Annealing is a process to change the micro-structure of the screw, which improve the strength, hardness of screw.
What is the specification for fully hardened alloy extrusion screw ?
The hardness can reach HRC65. After Crn Coating, the hardness can reach HV1700.
What is the application for fully hardened alloy extrusion screw ?
It’s suitable to process various high-temperature and highly corrosive plastics such as LCP, PPS, PES, PPA and glass fiber, PPA/PPO/LCP/ABS fire retardant.
Full hardened extrusion screws are very good choices for small screws when abrasion and corrosion resistance is required. For the large screws, the cost of materials, heat-treatment, and process can make them quite costly, but should still be considered for some specific applications
What are the main advantages of fully hardened steel extrusion screw?
It has the high wear resistance and corrosion resistance, which improve the service life.
At Barrelize, we have the experts here to understand your demand. Our engineers and technicians can engineer, design and manufacture the fully hardened steel extrusion screw for your specific application.
