A bimetallic screw barrel, or bimetallic screw and barrel, refers to a component used in plastic extruder machines that is made of two different metals.
For the first base material, you can choose 38CrMoALA and 42CrMo. For the second metal, some manufacturer can offer you iron-based alloy, nickel-based alloy, tungsten carbided alloy. Barrelize can make the thickness of the bimetallic layer : 1.5-2mm. The hardness of an iron-based bimetallic injection barrel can reach HRC60.
Advantages of bimetallic screws and barrels:
Strong wear resistance: The alloy layer has extremely high hardness, which can effectively resist the wear of plastic melt and fillers, and extend the service life of the equipment.
Good corrosion resistance: The alloy layer has good corrosion resistance, can resist corrosion from various chemicals, and ensure product quality.
Excellent heat dissipation performance: The alloy layer has good thermal conductivity, which can effectively dissipate heat and prevent the plastic melt from decomposing in the barrel.
Improve production efficiency: Due to strong wear resistance, the downtime of the equipment is reduced and the production efficiency is improved.
Improve product quality: Due to good heat dissipation performance, the plastic melt is mixed evenly in the barrel, and the product quality is improved.
Application:
Bimetallic screws and barrels are widely used in plastic extrusion, injection molding and other processing processes, especially for processing highly filled, high viscosity and highly abrasive plastic materials. For example:
PVC processing: PVC materials contain a large amount of fillers such as calcium powder, which causes serious wear on the equipment. Using bimetallic screws and barrels can effectively extend the service life of the equipment.
Engineering plastic processing: The processing temperature of engineering plastics is high, and the temperature resistance of the equipment is required to be high. Bimetallic screws and barrels can meet the processing needs of this high temperature.
Manufacturing Process
Material Selection: High-quality domestic and European professional material suppliers are used to ensure the quality of the raw materials. CNC Processing: All products are processed by CNC machines to ensure precise shape and tolerance design requirements. Heat Treatment: The components undergo strict heat treatment processes to enhance their wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Quality Control: A complete modern management system ensures that customers receive 100% qualified products, and the quality of each product is traceable.
